Off to Sing in Italy!

After surviving singing over 20 hours of practices and services from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday, Erika and I will leave this Saturday leading a group of 40 choir members, family, and parishioners from Visitation Catholic Parish, 51st and Main in Kansas City, on a 10-day concert and liturgy tour of central Italy.

It has been my pleasure to spearhead the planning for this tour over the last 18 months, and we are excited to be singing masses in the Basillico of San Francesco in Assisi, the Duomo in Siena, the Basillico of Santa Maria Novella in Florence, and masses in two of the major churhces (including the one in Dan Brown's Angels and Demons) and a joint concert in Rome. They occasionally let me sing Bass II (Basso Profundo!) in addition to carrying the bags.

If you want to follow us along on the trip, check out our blog at "www.visitaly2009.blogspot.com" (see link to the right side) and our YouTube channel at "KRSweeney2281". There also is a photo website from our friend Keith Gard linked on the blog.

Wish us luck and safe travels and ping us with comments on this or the visitaly2009 blog if you care to.

Kevin and Erika
