Welcome to the Sweeney Clan Blog

This blog provides an opportunity for our family members and friends to stay in touch more frequently than our Family Reunions with a more modern version of the "robin" letter packet that used to make the rounds among the Generation 1 (G1) descendants of my maternal grandparents, Harry and Clara Sweeney. I am the fifth of approximately 40 grandchildren. If anyone has a current count of grandchildren (this number should now have stopped moving), great-grandchildren, etc., please provide.

My wife Erika and I live just south of the Plaza area in Kansas City, where I am a corporate attorney focusing on serving companies in the life science industry and Erika is an executive at a biotech company. Caroline just turned 22 and is a year from graduating (she promises) with a degree in mass communications from Kansas State University. Katherine will turn 20 in a few days and is finishing her second year at K-State, studying horticulture architecture (or something like that - I am sure she will correct me).

Please feel free to share all types of family-related information and news by becoming a follower or responding to the blog entries. If that turns out to not to be convenient, we can explore a different hosting arrangement where everyone can log in and add information as host.

I hope that this turns out to be fun and interesting and a tool through which we can continue close ties among our family members. Let me know what you think!

Thanks,

Kevin

P.S. This is named the Sweeney Clan Blog because the Sweeney Family Blog name was not available.

  1. I'm surprised that more people have not joined. Perhaps we Sweeney's are not a very techno-oriented group? It is too bad, a host arrangement that would allow people to log in and post at will would be an ideal way to keep up on events! I'm glad you're working on keeping people in touch. Melinda
